Health and Wellness FAQ

How much exercise do the dogs get?

Dogs are in their play packs all day and can choose to play or relax when they choose.

In cases of dogs that are boarding for more than just a day or two, we may give them breaks of about an hour, 1-2 times per day. For dogs that are here for an extended period of time the breaks, or “naps”, become necessary to keep them in a good mood and to give them a chance to rest and recover mentally and physically.

Is it normal that my dog is super thirsty after daycare?

Most dogs drink lots of water when they get home, much like we would after a run. Water is provided throughout the facility, both indoors and outdoors, and is refreshed and replaced regularly. Since these water buckets are communal, some dogs are less interested in drinking water while at Daycare, and instead drink a lot of water once they get home.

If you feel like your dog is not drinking enough water while at Home Sweet Home, please give us a call and let us know so that we can monitor your dog’s water intake or even give them breaks with their own water bowl.

What do you do if there is an injury or a dog is sick?

If there is an injury to a dog in the course of a day, we will notify the owner immediately and proceed from there at the owner's discretion. If we are unable to get a hold of the owner, we will make medical decisions in the best interest of the dog.

If we notice signs that a dog might be sick, we will separate them from the packs and determine whether or not they are sick or maybe just in need of a break.

If we believe that a dog may be sick, we will call the owner to create a plan of action. Every dog here is important to us and every dog will be treated as if they were our very own.
